A delightful second solo outing from the Innocence Mission’s guitarist here - a melange of crafty guitar plucking that succeeds at that tough task: to make instrumentals feel like full and proper songs in their own right. Rich in reverb and tremolo, this is a transporting, calming record that hints at Paul Simon but really treads its own path. And when Don’s voice does peep from under the surface on ‘North Atlantic Sand’, with support from Karen Peris, the result is quite magical.
